Frequently Asked Questions

Is there homework?
Yes. The MBSR program can be quite challenging and time-intensive. It requires a full commitment on the part of the participant. In addition to attending all eight weekly classes plus the "all-day" class, there is an at-home component in the form of 45 minutes per day of formal meditation practice, plus an additional 15 to 20 minutes per day of simple awareness exercises. Please consider this before making a commitment.

What if I miss a class?
If the participant expects to miss more than two classes, it is suggested that he or she wait and take the course at another time. Consistency and continuity are integral components to the MBSR program. Don't forget, all participants must arrange to attend one of the free mandatory information/registration sessions.

What is included in the MBSR course cost?
The fee includes the orientation session, personal written assessments, guided CDs or downloadable MP3-format guided mindfulness meditations, a detailed course guidebook, weekly handouts, and all instructor-led classes. The fee is required in full and prior to the start of the course. Don't forget, all participants must arrange to attend one of the free mandatory information/registration sessions.

Who teaches the course?
The MBSR course is led by Jessica Webb, certified at the 500-hour level in Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga. Her complete bio is available here

How many other people are taking the course?

It's difficult to say what the final number will be, but the space can hold up to 22 participants.
