Private yoga classes can provide initial experience if you are brand new to yoga. The environment of a private class is much different from a group class. In a private class each posture, movement, and breath practice is thoroughly explained and many students report it takes out the "intimidation factor" when they are just starting a yoga practice. After a few private sessions, some find their progression into the world of group classes seamless and quite enjoyable. In addition, you are able to ask questions, get immediate clarification, and receive answers that are specific to your needs and abilities.

Private yoga classes are ideal if you have personal goals that you wish to achieve. The typical group yoga class is taught to a broad audience who have a variety of needs and as such most classes won't be tailored to your own goals. Having a private yoga teacher create a personalized yoga routine and schedule for you is, for some, the fastest way to a transformative practice both on and off the mat.

Okay, I'm in. What can I expect?
Private yoga classes are usually one hour long although some students choose to practice for up to an hour-and-a-half. You might feel comfortable coming to the Anchor Yoga studio or, if you prefer, we can come to you (your home, office, or other location). It's entirely up to you.
Some students choose a consistent schedule of classes to maintain continuity (three days a week, for example). Others prefer just once a week. The best thing to do is to call us to arrange for a consultation to discuss your private yoga and meditation needs.
How much does private yoga cost?
- A 1-hour private session is $75
- A 1.5-hour private session is $90
Of course, we offer private class passes, too.
The Newbie: Three 1-hour privates for the price of two for $150
The Yogi: Six 1-hour privates for $400 (save $50); Six 1.5-hour privates for $450 (save the cost of one class, $90)
The Guru: Twenty one-hour privates for $1,400 (save $100); Twenty 1.5-hour privates for $1,600 (save $200)
