Back by popular demand, please join Nicole Resendes for an introductory yoga series for brand new yoga students or for those who want a refresher course to deepen their practice.
Over the course of four Saturdays, learn the fundamentals of a modern yoga practice in a safe and supportive environment. You'll be introduced to the core yoga traditions and philosophies, the foundations of breathwork (pranayama) and meditation, as well as the basic poses (asanas) of yoga. Nicole will demonstrate poses and assist you while providing the principles of proper alignment. Gain a greater understanding of physical restrictions due to compression vs. tension plus feel what it's like to link breath with movement. Ultimately, this balanced state of awareness will allow you to safely create space in each pose to move beyond the limitations of the mind. After the class, you will feel confident to walk into any yoga class and take your practice to the next level!
It is recommended that you attend all four classes for the full benefit, however, drop-ins are welcome! Please note the dates: September 24, October 1, October 8, October 15 and October 22.
